Classrooms, teachers, students and learning usually come to mind first when we think about school districts. The thought of spreadsheets and budgeting isn’t often front and center in association with school! Yet, it’s the financial work behind the scenes that keeps the Utica City School District running with a strong, balanced foundation. 

A recent external audit highlighted the hard work that goes on in the administration building, earning the highest level of assurance from the Bonadio Group. The Bonadio Group’s public sector team, specializing in the nonprofit industry, was pleased to deliver this news at a recent Board of Education Meeting. 

Knowing that smart financial decisions are made with every check written and every bill paid allows the district to pursue its ambitious goals for excellence. Investing wisely and planning for the future means that everyone else in the district can focus on their vital work without worry. This clean audit also aligns with the administration’s commitment to transparency and keeping the public informed about the district’s finances.
